We Heal Earth, We Heal Ourselves
Ecosystem restoration is the process of reversing the degradation of ecosystems such as landscapes, lakes, and oceans in order to restore their ecological functionality; in other words, to improve ecosystem productivity and capacity to meet societal needs. This can be accomplished by allowing over-exploited ecosystems to regenerate naturally or by planting trees and other plants.
Any intentional activity that
initiates or accelerates the recovery of an ecosystem from a degraded state,
regardless of the form or intensity of degradation, is referred to as
restoration. Restoration responses vary according to the type of ecosystem in
which they are to be implemented (croplands, forests, rangeland, urban land,
wetlands, etc.). To enable ecosystems to perform essential functions, responses
should take a landscape-level approach, respond to local and enabling
conditions, and incorporate indigenous and local knowledge.
Let us help one another so that
we can overcome all of the negative things that are causing us so much trouble.
Because if we help one another, everything becomes easier and faster.
If I Can, You Can
